Hola!
Siento no haber escrito en todo este tiempo, pero he pasado mucho tiempo
de los meses pasados en Alemania, Portugal y Finlandia con Limahl, el cual
estaba haciendo promociones en TV, entrevistas, etc. Pero ya estoy aquí
otra vez hasta finales de Diciembre, así que, allá vamos…
Tal y como seguramente ya habéis leido en los periódicos, la boda del año
se ha celebrado, por fin!! Mark y Lourdes se casaron el 10 de Noviembre en
el registro de Chelsea. Fue una boda tranquila con solo John, Ed, Paul, yo
y los padres de los novios durante la ceremonia y el desayuno, pero
después, fuimos todos a la recepción a un restaurante londinense, y el
resto de la banda junto con muchos amigos estuvieron allí. Fue muy
divertido y duró todo el día y parte de la noche. No tuvieron tiempo de
tener una luna de miel ya que Mark volvió al estudio un par de días
después para empezar a hacer el LP en directo, el cual, por cierto, está
sonando increíblemente bien. Puede ser que no vea la luz hasta Febrero o
Marzo, ya que parece ser que las cosas están necesitando más tiempo de lo
que pensamos en un principio, pero os puedo asegurar, que la espera va a
merecer la pena. El LP es probable que se llame Alchemy, y estamos
intentando decidir que canción suena mejor para hacer el single, que
probablemente saldrá antes del LP.
Las otra noticia es que John ha estado grabando un LP en solitario. Ferry
y Mark también han colaborado- No lo he oído todavía y todavía no tiene
título, pero os haré saber más sobre esto en mi próxima carta.
El Martes por la noche, Paul Brady (uno de nuestros otros artistas) hizo
un concierto en Dingwalls en Londres, y Mark se unió a el tocando unas
seis canciones con él, para la sorpresa y deleite de los fans. Creo que
Mark pensó que fue un bonito cambio el tocar en un pub pequeñito para
variar!
Debería haceros saber que es posible que se produzcan pronto algunos
cambios en Damage. Principalmente, es posible que no esté aquí ya mucho
tiempo. Tengo que tomar una decisión muy difícil en las próximas semanas
(ya he estado intentando decidirme, pero no he llegado a ninguna
conclusión todavía) la cual es: a) dirigir a Limahl por mi cuenta o b)
quedarme en Damage y dejar escapar Limahl, ya que Damage no tiene tiempo
para poder dirigir a los dos (en realidad, no hay tiempo suficiente ya que
ambos son muy famosos mundialmente hablando y si todos nos vamos cuando
Dire Straits esté de gira, que pasaría con Limahl?...). Es una buena
oportunidad para mi, ahora no puedo soportar el pensar que no voy a
trabajar para un grupo ya que he estado aquí los últimos cuatro años y
medio y me encanta!! Incluso si me voy, es probable que siga haciendo la
correspondencia de los fans, pero de cualquier modo, os lo haré saber en
el nuevo año. Y eso es todo por ahora, excepto daros las gracias por todas
las cartas y postales que han estado llegando estos últimos meses, y Feliz
Navidad y próspero Año Nuevo.

Hi!
Sorry I haven't written for so long but I spent a lot of the past month in
Germany, Portugal and Finland with Limahl, who was doing TV shows, press
etc. But I'm back again now till the end of December, so here goes...
As you may have read in the papers, the wedding of the year has finally
taken place! Mark and Lourdes were married on November 10th at Chelsea
Register office. It was a very quiet wedding, with just John, Ed, Paul, me
and the two sets of parents at the ceremony and wedding breakfast, but
afterwards we all went on to the reception at a London restaurant, and the
rest of the band plus lots of friends came to that. It was great fun, and
went on most of the day and evening. They didn't have time to a honeymoon
as Mark went into the studio a couple of days later to start mixing the
live LP, which, incidentally, is sounding absolutely amazing. It may not
come out till Feb/March now as things are taking longer than we thought,
but I can assure you it will be well worth waiting for. The LP is likely
to be called Alchemy, and we're trying to decide which track sounds the
best as a single, which will probably come out just before the LP.
The other news is that John has been recording a solo LP. Terry and Mark
have also played on it - I haven't heard it yet, and it has no title yet,
but I'll let you know more about that in my next letter.
On Tuesday night, Paul Brady (one of our other artists) played a gig at
Dingwalls in London, and Mark got up and played about six songs with him,
much to the surprise and delight of the crowd. I think Mark found it a
nice change to play in a small club for a change!
I should let you know that there may soon be some changes here at Damage.
Basically, I may not be here much longer. I have a very hard decision to
make in the next couple of weeks (I've already been trying to decide but
haven't come to a conclusion yet) which is whether to a) manage Limahl on
my own or b) stay at Damage and let Limahl go, as Damage hasn't got time
to manage both acts (not really enough time, as both acts are very
successful on a world-wide basis, and if we all go off on tour with Dire
Straits, what will happen to Limahl?...) It's a really good opportunity
for me, yet a can't stand the thought of not working for a band as I've
been here 4 and a half years and love it! Even if I go, I will probably
still do the fanmail, but neither way, I will let you know in the New Year.

cards which have arrived in the last couple of months, and have a merry
Christmas and a happy New Year.
